Mission
The Society for Agriculture, Food Security and Energy for One Health (SAFE) is established to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity building at the intersection of agriculture, food systems, energy, and One Health, for the benefit of society and the environment.
SAFE recognises that scientific research, innovation, and integrated systems thinking are essential to addressing global challenges related to food security, environmental sustainability, public health, climate resilience, and socio-economic well-being. By connecting science, practice, and policy, SAFE seeks to support evidence-based approaches that contribute to a sustainable and equitable future.
To fulfil its mission, SAFE is being developed around three complementary roles:
Public Benefit and Education
As a not-for-profit scientific society established for public benefit, SAFE aims to support activities that advance understanding and application of integrated One Health approaches. These include fostering scientific dialogue, supporting education and training, facilitating collaboration among researchers and practitioners, and promoting the dissemination of scientific knowledge relevant to agriculture, food security, energy, and One Health.
Membership and Professional Community
SAFE is a member-driven society that brings together researchers, professionals, students, and institutions from diverse disciplines and regions. Through its membership, SAFE seeks to recognise diverse forms of expertise, encourage inclusive participation, and create opportunities for collaboration, mentoring, and professional engagement across career stages and geographic boundaries.
Platform for Dialogue and Collaboration
As an emerging international scientific platform, SAFE aims to convene discussion, exchange knowledge, and contribute informed perspectives on issues related to agriculture, food systems, energy, and One Health. Through collaboration with partners and stakeholders, SAFE seeks to support evidence-based dialogue that can inform research priorities, practice, and policy in the public interest.
